I’ve written a couple of posts about annoying things people do because sometimes it just feels right to get it off my chest. I also know that according to the *Karma Scale I need to offset those negatives with a whole lot of good and positive vibes to get some balance back. Kind of like carbon offsets, but not really.
I don’t like to be negative. I know that negativity breeds the same. And so here is my list of some amazing things that my people say. That’s family people, not my race or creed or crap like that.
When I think of these amazing things my heart sings. Did you know I was a big ol’ sap? Well here you go.
3 Amazing Things My People Have Said
- This morning my son said the most amazing thing. He said, ‘Mommy listen to me’. Once he had my attention he went on to tell me his version of an experience he had the other day using key words and expressions to relate his thoughts. He’s not speaking in full sentences yet as he is only 25 months old. It won’t be long though. It was clear to me that while his directive may seem insignificant to some, he was letting me know that in order to get someone’s full attention sometimes asking is the best way. This has always been a challenge as I often don’t speak up for myself when it really matters. I have a lot to learn from him and I know this is only the beginning.
- The Serious One often says, ‘I love you more today than I did yesterday’. I used to think, ‘How is this possible?’ Now I just trust that he is right. And that is all that matters. I have a lot to learn about love. And it’s ok.
- Whenever I worry about money or time or the fact that I haven’t gotten my career path cemented yet the Serious One will say, ‘There’s no rush. Take your time. You are on the path that you need to be on. You have done so much in the last couple of years. It will happen. Just be patient.’
What more can I ask for?
I am a very fortunate woman, mom, and partner.

* The Karma Scale is merely the balance between the good I do or have done versus the bad. It’s not scientific. One day I will have a diagram done up. Until then, dream and do good.
