Hi all! My name is Lee-Anne.
Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to get to know me better.
Having started this parenting journey in my 40’s I am finally shedding this tired skin to keep close to my heart what is wonderful, challenging and brilliant about raising a rambunctious boy. In the process I’m growing into the kind of person I am proud to love.
My partner is a Fine Arts teacher in the public school system which is a blessing now more than ever as our son is well into grade two.
Blogging, researching and writing about topics that inspire has helped me come into my own as a mother. I’ve also found that I enjoy dabbling in how this site looks and feels and have moved into web design and development over at https://proudpupmedia.com.
And my work here has won a few awards which is kind of fun. I’ve also done a bit of writing on other blogs and publications on the web.
My hope is that you’ll enjoy what you’re reading here and connect on a heart level to some of the meatier pieces and find the humour in it all.
One of the most rewarding pieces of this kind of work is partnering with brands and businesses that want to connect with YOU. So if you’re a brand or business that would like to work with me, I’d love that as long as we’re a good fit.
Fun Facts
I used to be a am a die hard Walking Dead fan, but now that Rick’s nearly dead, well it’s running a bit circular, you know? I mean, how many times can they restart a new civilization before things go really wrong? A fanatical Blue Jays watcher these days, an ex-poker player and I love the outdoors unless you ask me to sleep outside. Then forget it!
I love walks in the forest and along the beaches…Oh, was that a dream?? Sigh. Our fam recently moved to Edmonton and the only beach to be found was accidental, as in Accidental Beach right on the North Saskatchewan River. I’m sure there’s more to be found but we’re still recovering from the culture shock and the snow! Anyway, we have a new addition to the family, our sweet mini Labradoodle, Paige, so we often get the chance to discover new expanses of river valley goodness and breathe in the fresh, frigid air.
And I love cycling, fitness when I can do it, yoga and experimenting in the kitchen. My family is a pretty good sport about what comes out of the kitchen most of the time.
