‘Does the Easter Bunny hide ‘chocolate eggs’, mama?’
‘I’m not sure sweetie we’ll have to see’, I said.
By chocolate eggs OLM means KINDER® Surprise eggs, of course. He likes most chocolate these days, whether it’s the cheap foil wrapped ones you buy in bulk or one of those dollar store bunnies that taste more like wax than real chocolate. But when he gets one of these special treats with the toys inside like this cute parachuting cat, I can see his excitement build and his mouth water from across the room.
Our little monkey never gets bored with the hunt and doesn’t seem to mind that we hide the same eggs over and over. On Easter Sunday he had three separate Easter Egg hunts, at our house, in the courtyard of the building and over at my sister-in-law’s house. He’s got a keen eye for all things chocolate and sweet, I’m sure he’ll make a great detective one day.
Easter has come and gone, it’s true, but not in my house.
We are still hiding eggs in the house even though Easter has come and gone. Now before you get all, ‘How much chocolate is your son eating? He must be running in circles by now with all the sugar!’ Let me tell you that we are blessed with a little person that not only shares his chocolate treasures with us, he is somehow able to control how much he eats, naturally. He certainly didn’t get that from me. But I suppose that when the chocolate tastes as good as Kinder chocolate tastes, he savours it more and is satisfied with less.
But maybe I am imagining things. All I know is that it is fun to watch his excitement as he discovers more hidden treasures around the house. And it’s delightful to know that he is more than willing to share with us.
