The Home Opener Heats Up the City!
Vancouver’s favourite baseball team returns to wow fans and defend back-to-back championship titles.
Vancouver, BC – On Monday June 17, (It’s my birthday! in case you didn’t know) giant two-foot hot dogs will be consumed, sushi rolls will race, and sports enthusiasts will cheer at the Vancouver Canadians home opener at Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium. The 2013 kick-off will mark the start of another incredible Vancouver summer and the challenge to defend two consecutive championship wins in 2011 and 2012.
“Our staff has worked very hard this off-season to ensure that our fans remain excited about what we are doing here at the ballpark. From the time you walk up to our gates right through the final pitch of the game, our focus continues to be involved in our community and while at the ballpark be entertaining and provide world-class customer service to each and every one of our fans,” says Vancouver Canadians president Andy Dunn as he and his staff put the final touches on historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium
From the shouts of peanut vendors over the cheers of the crowd to the jaw-dropping fireworks on family night, fans will surely feel back at home once arriving at historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium starting Monday, June 17th at 7:05pm.
To top it all off, this year the Vancouver Canadians are also playing for a Northwest League Championship three-peat. With back-to-back titles in 2011 and 2012 the excitement on the field will be fierce as the team competes to secure a franchise-record third consecutive pennant.
The Vancouver Canadians play at the historic Scotiabank Field at Nat Bailey Stadium, one of the most iconic sports venues in Canada. Nestled in front of Queen Elizabeth Park, ‘The Nat’ marks its 62nd year as the home to professional baseball. With one of the few remaining manual scoreboards in Minor League Baseball, a narrow foul territory, and portraits of baseball greats like Joe DiMaggio lining the walls, fans at Vancouver Canadians games are treated to a unique mix of nostalgia and exciting sports action.
My family will be going to the home opener and because it’s my birthday, we’ll have an even better time with proper celebrations! Maybe they’ll let me throw out the first pitch? You never know.

My family was given tickets to attend the home opener. This is a media release that I support entirely as I am a huge baseball fan. I watch the Bluejays nearly every day and have played softball myself for more years than I care to remember. Somewhere around 20 I only support and endorse companies and events that I believe in personally.
