I love when I get a chance to hang out with my girlfriends. It’s a chance to rejuvenate, catch up and toss some ideas around. A few weeks ago I went up to Summerland (and wrote a post about our wine tour on VancouverMom.ca) with two of my girlfriends and OLM. Aside from some of the sleep issues that still plague me and my son we had a great time.

My friend’s parents hosted us, wined and dined us and we played cards games and Scrabble until the wee hours, which for me is midnight but who’s keeping track? When I get the chance to hang out and relax with friends there’s always a trade-off when the little guy is around. I trade sleep for good times, which sometimes you just gotta do.

My friend’s parent’s who we now call Mami and Papi Jerpie, prepared us feasts, one of which was a dish called Overnight Strata. I will be sharing this recipe with you soon but first I wanted to introduce a new series that has come out of a discussion I had with my friend. It is inspired by a photo that was taken there, capturing a silly moment that gave us a laugh and brought us all a bit closer.

The idea for this series, Oh Snap(shots)! is for my friend to send me a random snapshot to post on the blog. She thought it might be fun to surprise me with it and that I then write a caption or relive the moment with you.

So here’s the first photo in the new series, Oh Snap(shots)!

Now, what are the chances of all three of us putting on a pink shirt this morning? I’d say it’s high if you’re as good friends as we are. But, it was still a nice surprise!
