This snapshot was taken eons ago in Hawaii. I’m standing beside a very well-trained Navy diver dude who thought we should explore the North Shore waters. Little did I know that it could have been the last time I ever scuba-d.
I haven’t had much luck scuba diving over the years. I’ve had a lot of near misses, from my regulator having a leak in it (that’s the thing you breathe from) to my partner running out of air, to getting caught in a post-slack tide situation (meaning I was caught in the change of tide and whisked away about 100 meters from the boat), to being tossed onto the rocks by an unexpected surge in the tide.
Yup I think me scuba diving days are over, especially now that I have a little one.
It’s funny that the things I used to love that were adrenaline rush inducing are now the furthest things from my mind when it comes to having fun.
What risky activities do you no longer do now that you’re a parent?

I’d love to snorkel with our little guy! Good idea, baby daddy 🙂

So glad you’ll be avoiding this hobby. Leave it to the wreak divers. Snorkel instead with your son.
