We went to Science World but OLM was very, very tired and didn’t last more than an hour. And then it was a battle to get him home, including a bout of screaming, biting and pinching. And no, it wasn’t me doing the biting although I was tempted.
Dropping his nap today. Ba ha ha ha…
OLM has been waking up one to two times a night for many, many months now. Lately, it’s a struggle to get him to bed before 9pm. So I’ve been thinking that the only tool left in my worn out and weary tool belt is to drop his nap with the hope that he’ll go to bed earlier.
But, he wasn’t having it. He asked to nap (whaat?) and then only slept for one hour. He’s tired. And I’m not gonna lie, being 46 is a bitch with a toddler. I’m exhausted and The Serious One is way worse off than me because he goes to work and gets up in the night with our little man.
Grouchy Multi-Tasking is Better than Nothing
I thought this photo summed up the day quite well. It certainly represents the general tone.
I added it to my Mom Paradigm board on Pinterest because it will serve as a constant reminder that being grouchy and hungry is never a good combination, it’s a cool photo and finally, it allows me to complete one of the mini-challenges of the Biannual Blogathon Bash this weekend. I’m such a multi-tasker!
It reminds me that when you have a grouchy toddler on your hands it’s best to stay at home. You never know until you’re in the midst of toddler hell that it was indeed a very bad idea.
Anyway, he’s sitting in front of the TV now. Hallelujah! And I can get some blogging done. Don’t judge.
On the brighter side…
If you’ve ever thought about starting a blog check out what’s going on over on Twitter and use #blogathon2 to see what the big deal is. And of course you can sign up to receive updates from the blog in your inbox.

Thanks Kathleen 🙂 We’ve not mastered quiet time at all. But, last night he stayed in his own bed for the first time in months! He is still waking up, but with encouragement stayed in his bed. We’ll see how it goes tonight. He’s still going to bed too late.

Sorry you had such a rough day! My 2 year old only has naps a few times a week (he’ll be 3 at the end of March.) But I give him a quiet time if he’s not tired enough for a nap but I don’t want him to end up being a hellion by dinner time. He lay down in my bed watching TV with his cup of milk for at least an hour, sometimes longer.
